The Story of A.J's Florist Shop
The Legacy continues:
My mom always said that my first stop after being born was at the flower Shop. Below is my story.
My father opened his first flower shop in 1965, two years before I was born. His flower shope was on the west side of Chicago, and it was called Wiley's Florist. In 1975, my parents decided to open another flower shop with my mom name of Irene's Florist. It was also on the west side of Chicago. After both of our parents passed away, we closed the doors to both Flower shop and just went on to live our lives. However, we all learned ths skills from our parents to design flowers and it was something we all enjoyed doing. In April 2019 I was asked to design the flowers for my niece wedding. This is when that seed began to blossom within me. Then in 2022 I was asked to host a wellness event at my job and show people how to make floral bouquets. When I saw how happy everyone became when making these arrangements, it really made me want to start my business again. This became the start of AJ's Florist Shop.
